The Stonewall Tavern of Minah has often been a meeting place of many. Late one evening, a dark hair woman sits at a booth, sipping ale and eating stew. A dark skinned elven man with pale white hair stumbles into the room. As the man falls to the ground the woman moves quickly to his side. She quickly checks for wounds, upon finding none she removes her cloak and places it under the man’s head.

Looking toward the bar the woman speaks gently, “Bring me water, Barkeep. This man has passed out.” The barkeep brings the water and sits the glass on the ground, glaring at the man upon the floor, he grumbles, “Best get that one out of here, he be bad for business.” Frowning he snaps around and returns behind the bar.

The elven man opens his eyes, and looks upward toward the woman. His violet eyes are drawn to hers, the man’s face marked in confusion and loss. He shows no expression as he moves to sit up. The woman assists as both move back to the table.

They sit at the table, the woman give the man the stew she was eating. He looks toward her and eats the food, no expression shown upon his person. The woman sits quietly, her eyes remaining upon the man. No words are exchanged. She senses he is one who would help anyone, yet as she studies his face, his eyes hold a burning fire buried deeply within his soul. As the man finished the stew and ale, their eyes meet again. Both linked on a bond that is none breakable. Not a bond of love or attraction, but of loyalty and duty.

Years pass and the two go their separate paths. The elven man’s childhood or family never remembered. The Queen of the Spiders his totem. His memories beginning at the tavern in Minah that fateful day. One can only wonder where the spider will lead him next.
