Annaloro Takis

Born to Ar'kir and Taik Takis in the Elven city of Kisah, Thus Annaloro Takis did enter this world a crying Elf. My father was a member of the Queens' Guard and my mother a Scribe of the Royal Court. Our home was a simple one just off Blue Myrtle and had a view of the Bridge of the Seven Suns and the Palace. We were not overly wealthy but neither were we poor. I did recieve a formal education and some basic combat training from my father, who hoped I would follow in his foot steps and be a solider. My childhood was not hard as some are but it was rather uneventful and boring at time as i found myself wandering the Sea of Reeds below the city just to see how long it would take me to get out. As I was growing up i found that i did not have a taste for combat, much to the dismay of my father. He told me that he understood and I was free to choose my calling. After spending several years trying various professions I found them all boring and lacking something i could not put my finger on. So after spending a while with various master I found myself back in Kisah wondering what I was going to do with my life. Then one night I came a cross a human in the Elkhorn Tavern who was entertaining the locals with his simple spells. He made beer and ale appear out of thin air, much to the admiration of the local lushes, and his golem preforming feats of strength. After watching him for hours I approached him how he did that, he responded with a coy smile and said one word, "Alchemy." That night after returning home I slept very little, the images of what I saw dancing in my mind. The following morning I returned to the tavern and found the alchemist sitting at the bar eatting a honey cake, his golem standing in the corner. I approached him an asked if he could teach me the ways of Alchemy. He looked up from his breakfast and looked me over a couple of times, chuckled and said "Sure, why the hell not." He introduced himself as Dalin Faring. The follow morning after packing my belongings and said my goodbyes we set off on our journey. My training started off with the basics of simple conjuration and using foods as weapons. On more than one occasion I was rushed to a healer to heal some burns on my hands from a messed up elixir, and so my training continued for many years. I learned how to turn simple vials of water into deadly potions and bits of flesh, clay, and stone into even deadlier golems. Dalin also taught me how to make weapons even stonger and to augment myself to be stronger in battle. As we traveled the world together Dalin grew older while I did not. He was not able to travel as far in one day as he used to, often complaing of aches and pains where none used to be. Then one day while staying in Brulan Dalin went to bed early and I soon followed suit after doing some work. The next morning i found him still sleeping and thought nothing of it. Then I noticed something odd, his crystal golem was gone. As my training taught me there are only two ways that a golem would not be with his master. One is that it dies in combat, the other is if the master dies. After putting Dalin to rest in the cemetary, I headed out into the world alone for the first time. It was time to see if all of Dalin's training and care would be enough to see me through to the end. |
