Ardemos

It was a small town, Irshedal, until the raids began. Then it got smaller and smaller. The houses there were made from stone, because it was hot year-round, and the stone would cool the inside.

There were a couple windows on each side of the four walled houses to vent the air. Not true windows, but only squares where there was no stone. But, unfortunately the race that lived there liked to be comfortable. The insides were full of wooden furniture with anything they could find to cushion it. And most of the cushioning and furniture was flammable.

There were many unusual things about Irshedal, but the weirdest by far, was the fact that the races that inhabited this village were peaceful orcs and ogres. They just did like the idea of savagery and bloodshed.

Not wanting to live near or with bloodthirsty creatures, and the bloodthirsty creatures not wanting them to live near or with them either, they gathered together and left. They had left in search for the perfect land. And they found it. They settled in a beautiful valley surrounded by a beautiful forest and built a beautiful town.

The Myredal family (all the families had changed last named to end in dal, in honor of Aelm Irshedal who started it all) was loyal to their city. After three raids though, they decided they had to protect themselves somehow. And their two year old boy. The family consisted of two parents and the child, Sienedal (who had changed even her first name) Miyerin, and the kid, Ardemos.

Miyerin, an ogre, worked for money with a couple others and brought lumber back. One day, the other men and Miyerin went to the forest with their axes, they were going to build a wall.

Sieneda, an orc, l worked in the kitchen, and she prepared the food (which didn't taste very good, but the orc didn't really care) and cleaned the ..house.

Ardemos, a half-orc, was a good little boy, and was playing with some small wooden cubes outside in the tallish green grass. The orc played with the blocks and tried to make his own city.

Eight years later (making Ardemos 10) The raids continued, and gradually grew worse and worse over the years. Some of the peaceful orcs and ogres had to take up weapons to protect their loved ones. And the city council outcasted them. Once though, a large group of bandits broke through a newly rebuilt part of the wall and hacked at doors with their blades, finding weak ones and breaking in. Two of them came in front of a house and, after trying to cut it down, bashed the door in. Sienedal jumped and turned from the food, Miyerin turned from the fire he was building, and Ardemos looked up from the puzzle he was trying to put together. One of the men kicked Miyerin down to the corner of the room and the other went in search for gold and jewelry. The one took his blade out once more and held it to Miyerin's throat, just in case he had second thoughts. Ardemos crawled to the opposite corner of his father to the log rack for the fire. He picked out one of the lighter pieces of wood, and quietly made it back to where the human was. When he stood, he was about the bandit's height, being very tall for his age. He pulled the log back, and a warning yell came from behind, from the other one. Ardemos swung it forward anyways, and the human looked back to see what wrong just in time to catch the wood in his face. He fell backwards on top of Miyerin, and Ardemos turned. The other intruder had tried to sneak up, and now swung. Ducking, the orc pulled the log up and slammed it into his stomach. The man fell to his knees and dropped his sword, earning him another smashed to the head.

The council gathered. Nearly a third of the population (which had grown a lot in the eight years) of Irshedal had taken up arms to fight off the bandits. The fifteen members of the council listened to many of the orcs and ogres pleads, but in the end once the votes were cast, they were all outcasted. Peace had to be sustained is what the council decided. All of the members of the council voted for outcastment for all, including Miyerin. Ardemos's own father had been one to outcast him. For him, Ardemos knew his own peaceful life was over. He joined the other men and set out to see the world. As he grew, he learned the tactics and ways of a fight and battle very well. He became a great general, and to excellent soldiers. He also found a talent in himself, which he had made others leave his army for. It reminded him of Irshedal, the healing, healing makes peace, and what happened between him and the bandits that night of Irshedal will never be healed.
