In the industrial city of the dwarves, Brulan, there lived a dwarf by the name of Balgier Darkhall and His wife Gorla. Balgier was one of the finest smiths in the city (if not the best). He was widely known by men and elves and other inhabitants of Kirganthis for his fine armor and weapons. His wife, Gorla, was a poet that was widely renown for her work. They were pretty well off. In a harsh winter, they were stuck off on the slopes of Mt. Drannor. Gorla, who was pregnant gave birth to a dwarven boy. They named him Balak.

Balak was a gifted youngster. He was a natural fighter always sword fighting and play fighting with the local children. When he wasn't off causing trouble and getting into quarrels he was in his fathers forge, helping him and learning the ways of a great dwaren smith. When he was 13 years of age he set out with his father on a delivery to the populas of Stonegate. When they passed by the Pareth Deep they were attacked by a group of 7 orcs. His father killed 2 of them but was rushed and was slain. They kidnapped Balak and took them to there camp in the depths of a cave. For a year Balak was held prisoner and was beaten and tortured. One day when they were taking him to be beaten, he disarmed one of the orcs and slew him. The other orcs were out and he escaped and wandered for 5 months without finding help. He found a group of men, going to Brulan. He accompanied them and was back in Brulan. He found his mother had died from a broken heart. He was devastated. He sold his house and moved into his fathers forge and made his own weapons. He trained in the arts of a warrior. He wasn't expecting to be the best. He wanted to earn a reputation and strike fear into all the orcs, goblins, and ogres and other foul beast's that walk the land.

On his seventeenth birthday he left Brulan to start his life. He dedicated his life to protecting innocent people everywhere from evil. It was not an original path but it fancied him just fine. He is somewhere now, off in the world. Who knows, you may just run into him. Don't be afraid he is a gentle fell with a big heart, as most dwarfs are.
