Bezca Rahzun

It’s a dark night, the moon is out giving an eerie glow.... A merchant, guarded by thugs, enters a dimly lit room, lighted by a small fire. It's a run down house, They find only a cloaked figure sitting in a chair, peering out the window paying no attention to them. The merchant, stepping towards the shady figure, asks, "Are you the one they call, Tosh?" without saying a word, the cloaked figure looks at the merchant, his face mostly hidden in the shadow of his hood. Again the merchant asks, "Well, are you?", a pause, then the from the figure they hear "yes... that is what some call me..." the merchant continues, "I have heard that you know much, an you could help me in a problem I have", no response, just the crackling of the flames. Again he continues "What might you know of one called Bezca?" the cloaked figure's head pricks up, staring in the merchant’s direction, saying softly, "I know much about him...", continuing the merchant adds, "Tell me all you know of him, I can make it worth your while". Turning his head back towards the window, ‘Tosh’ begins speaking almost as if he was telling himself a story he had heard a hundred times....

"Bezca...once called Besh, was born in the line of nobles an was raised in a simple but nice house just a mile away from the city of Marsurs. Only a mile, but a mile too far…“ pauses, then continues, "While returning with his father, Sonah, from a hunting trip, they heard screams coming from their house. They ran to check it out, but arrived too late... What they found at the house threw Sonah in a blinding rage. There was his wife dead, being carried off by a band of thieves, with bags of their possessions. Sonah drew his sword an charged them, but the leader was quick and confronted him, distracting Sonah as another crept in the shadows, preparing to seal his death..…“, another pause, then the merchant ,paranoid and impatient , breaks the silence, "I don't care about this, this man's history means little to me-", quickly ‘Tosh’ interrupts, "Then leave, but if you want to know of Bezca, then know this, nothing tells you about a person more then their history" getting a grip, the merchant looks around then says "Fine, continue". ‘Tosh’ continues, still peering out of the window, "While the swords clashed between the two, Sonah was struck in the back crippling him. He dropped his weapon, failing to his knees. Besh, only at the age of 8, watched in horror at the grim look... on his fathers face... as they made him suffer... Besh screamed with all his might, a desperate plea for help. They just laughed at him, kicking him around. No one lived nearby, surly no one would answer his cry....

A rare thing happed that night, something this realm has really seen, a necromancer passing by heard his plea's an took piety on him. Out of the darkness he came, quick an merciless. He stabbed one in the back without stopping, while all the same chanting to himself, then with a motion of his hand the darkness hit. A black eerie shadow came froth from him. What their eyes saw within it raised a terror beyond all fears, in the eternal blackness hazy silver outlines of jagged creatures flickered around them. The shapes morphed and changed, growling without sounds, the only sound was that of the person next to them screaming as the necro killed them.” as he paused, the men looked around, fear raising in their hearts.

Then he continues, "Despite the shock, when the fog lifted, Besh saw the necro walking to the east. He looked around and saw his dead family, the dead thieves, and saw the necro, still walking. With tears in his eyes, he ran to the necro, and hung on his cloak. At first the necro jerked back with fierce anger, but when he saw the boy’s tears and his face so pale, it made him smile for the first time in years. It was a smile of compassion, as the boy pleaded though his sobs to go with the necro. So the necro, Toshizh, took him in an raised him as a apprentice, but the life style was cold an the boys heart became hard to emotion during those dark years. Toshizh grown fond of Besh, an gave him the name Bezca. It came to pass that Toshizh fell sick shortly after Bezca, no longer a boy, completed his training. While on his death bed, Bezca stayed at his side tending to his needs. It must have touched the necros heart even farer, for even though his pain he was content with Bezca there. Before passing, he made the young man swear an oath to him, breaking the social barriers of necromancers. He made him swear not to live a life like he had, isolating himself from the world. He told him to live with others and an maybe take a family for himself. Then the old mage died, an for the first time in 13 years, Bezca wept-". Annoyed the merchant interrupts "I've heard enough, your wasting my time. I'm not paying you unless you tell me either how to kill him, or were to find him", ‘Tosh’ turns around staring strait at them, and boldly continues in a stronger tone, "Bezca looked up to Toshizh all those years, an even still the mage held honor in his eyes." As he spoke, the merchant pointed to one of his thugs, who grinned an pulled out a club "He kept true to his oath the best he could an traveled with many," as the thug walked across the room towards him, the cloaked figure stood up, and as he did the wind howled around them, the man backed up as ‘Tosh’ continued, "but he did not give up the grim practices taught to him.” taking a step as he continued, his face begain to become more visible as he stepped closer to the light. "No, he sought to become stronger in this area, but his cause was just, for the victims of these arts were all who wronged others.” spiting in disgust, the merchant told his men, "I've had enough, take care of him." then pointing to another he said "Go get the girl, we'll make her pay for having us come here-" As they went for their weapons, the robed figure took a couple steps closer and as he did a powerful guest came in the room, slamming the door shut an causing the fire to flare up revealing his face to the men, who panic for he was just like in the rumors. His dark green eyes were blazing an he continued in a fierce tone, " Those who murdered, stole, raped, and lived corrupted lives, they all would fall at his hands, for he hated all of that, an seeing others do it brought back the painful image of his dieing father. Though this rage, he coldly and swiftly bought his wrath without mercy against these people." extending the palm of his hand in their direction, he continued, " To long have the dead cried out against you, no longer shall another suffer at your hand, tonight you join them!" as he finished shadows erupted from him, and the last thing they saw was the blazing flames in Bezca's eyes.
