Bodwyn Hawkclaw
|
|
[Deep within the caves of the trolls in the unspoken of parts of Kirganthis in the dark, no lantern nor ball of light to guide him.] A menacing voice echos throughout the caverns above, "Who dares to walk in the caves of Belrog'dai!?" The young man shudders and continues to work as the voice rings again, "Perhaps you are deaf young morsel of flesh, I SAID who dares to walk in the caves of Belrog'dai!!?" The teenager now gathers his courage and lets out a roar of words rivaled by any other of his age, "It is I! Bodwyn Hawkclaw, warrior of te king and avenger of my father! Slayer of Belrog'dai shall soon join that list of titles." A thunderous roar of laughter can now be heard from all directions. Twenty trollish warriors leap from the shadows toward the young man. Six are cut down by his blade before he is snared and taken away. He is now in front of a huge trollish figure with a patch over his left eye. The troll chuckles evilly and begins to speak, "You are brave Bodwyn, that cannot be denied, but you are also foolish. What did you expect waltzing into my kindom this way? Ahh yes, I almost forgot," Belrag'dai says, chuckling, "You meant to be the 'slayer of Belrag'dai'. That is how it went isn't it?" At this time Bodwyn nods and begins to smile. At his Belrag'dai snarls and says, "What are you smiling about you foolish little imp!?" Bodwyn sneaks his hand into his pocket and pulls out his fathers mithril ring. Sliding it onto his finger and disappearing into the shadows he remembers what his father had said, "Take this and be brave son, you will this someday, and when that day comes, think of me." Now unseen by the huge troll, Bodwyn runs for the nearest cave. As he runs out of the caverous kingdom of trolls he hears Belrag'dai screaming and moaning for the revenge of his eye. And so ends this tail of Bodwyn the Brave, on in a book yet unfinished and with many more a tale to be added. |
