Caillech

The Faerie Goddess, Shiloh Morningstar, smiles down at her beautiful newborn baby daughter, "I will let no harm come to you, my little one. I am sorry I can not keep you, it tears my heart out so, but for your safety I must give you up." Shiloh cries, hugging tiny Caillech to her chest.

An evil witch named Phawna, hated Shiloh for her beauty and power. She swore to kill Shiloh's first born child, knowing she would never be strong enough to hurt Shiloh any other way. Shiloh believe in her threats, for she knew that Phawna was pure evil and would stop at nothing to hurt Shiloh.

Deciding the safest place for a baby fae was around many other baby faes, Shiloh chose to hide Caillech among the forest faeries. They were more than happy to take in Caillech as one of their own, for they loved and admired Shiloh for all the blessing she had bestowed upon them over the years.

The forest faeries grew to love Caillech, and she was brought up around love, caring and happiness, never knowing of her true identity. She knew of nothing else. Saddness was not the way of the forest faeries. They lived among the trees and flowers and played there all day. One Day as Caillech was happily fluttering from flower to flower chasing a small bumblebee, she spied a human man roaming the forest. She was mesmerized by his beauty. She had never actually seen a human nor any other species of man before today, although she had been told many stories from the others that encountered them. Some pleasant encounters, others not so pleasant. She had always loved the appearance and charm of the faerie males, and got along wonderfully with them. She enjoyed the company of females too, but something about the male physique intrigued her. The way they stood so proud and noble, and much more. With her personality and looks, Caillech had no trouble making friends of either sex.

She decided she would follow this male and find out where he was from, so flying high above him so as not to be noticed or heard, she did her best to keep up. Finally, they arrived in a city called Stonegate. Caillech was awestruck by everything she saw. People of all races, living together happily greeting each other on the streets. "Everything is so grand here," she thought. She spent the rest of the afternoon flying around the town greeting other with friendly hellos and her gracious smile. Right before she left, she sighed, and nodded. She had made her mind up, she was going to move to Stonegate and become her training as a Mage. Caillech knew in her heart that was her destiny and she would begin to fulfill it.

That night, after returning to the forest to retrieve her belongings, she called her friends around her. "I am leaving you all now, I am not a child anymore. Yes, Caillech is young, but she needs to be on her own to become what the Gods have planned for her. Please know I love you all and will never forget you and I will visit often I promise, but this is something I must do." Caillech was somewhat saddened to be leaving the only family she had ever known, but there was excitement and happiness in her also. No one tried to change her mind, for they all knew she was of royal blood and showed her respect as such, although no one ever mentioned why to her. She just assumed this was how all should be treated and returned their respect to them.

The next morning, after having packed all her belongings, Caillech said her last goodbyes and set out for Stonegate once again. She had lived there many moons, training hard as a mage, gaining respect and many friendships along her path. She now is a strong mage, continuing to struggle along despite her size to achieve full ranking. She was approached my many heads of houses around Kirganthis wanting her to join them, but at last made her decision to join the House of Brynn in the city of Quessa. She had many she called friends, now she has many she calls family once again.
