First of all, if you are reading this, I thank you for taking the time to come on this site and look around. My deepest apologies if the site is not 100% up to date, it's an on-going struggle to not only write the new code and areas, but to also document things on the website as well as in-game, but an attempt is being made. My name is Terloch, and I am the hair-losing head admin of Feudal Realms, which for nearly 8 years now has been quite the obsessive hobby of not only myself, but my volunteer staff and dedicated players. Feudal Realms was developed with the player in mind, for that is what myself and 90% of my staff were before undertaking this project, players. This game is not here for our sole enjoyment, but for the enjoyment of the players. A huge majority of the coding and building either comes directly from the players work themselves, or from their ideas and submissions. Feudal Realms is a ROM/Diku/Merc based mud, but as nearly everyone who plays or works on it will tell you, it's far different from many other muds that have been developed, and to assume otherwise is a grave mistake. Classes have been restructured, as well as the magic and skill system. Stock areas are completely gone and have been replaced with an all-original cohesive world of (at the time of this being written) nearly 10,000 rooms to explore, including four fully-functional cities with supporting areas surrounding them. Now granted, I am quite biased, but I feel we have some great code, outstanding areas, and wonderful features to use, but the core of the world as a whole are the players who inhabit what we have all built. The players are who bring the world to life and modify it at their will. It is the players who guide the staff to build new areas, code new features, and change the world, not the other way around. Yes, there is some give and take, and some things are done completely on the staff's own volition, but it is usually for the benefit of the playerbase as a whole. I could honestly ramble on for pages and pages, but what I suggest is that you read up on things on the website here, and log on to our world and immerse yourself in what Feudal Realms really is. That is truly the only way to learn just exactly what things are, and to become part of the driving force of what Feudal Realms will be in the future.
Best Wishes, Terloch
