On the 23rd day of the month of The Long Shadows, a child with blue eyes and white hair was born in the city of Stonegate. He was a half-elven boy. His mother, a most charming elven sorceres, that went by the name of Latentia Valentine, spend one night, and one night only with the child’s father, a human knight who’s name only Latentia knew. But she kept it secret, and the name of the child’s father went to his mother’s grave, along with her. Latentia named the child Mobius. The word "mobius” meant love in an ancient mystical language. She helped the child grow and though him many spells that she knew from the many books of knowledge she owned. She rised the child untill he reached the most beautiful age of 16. When he was celebrating thw 16th spring of his life, she left, never to return again, for the deep forests of Quessa, to die in peace. When her child was to return home, he was to find the next letter on the black carved table:
The last words of the note were scribbled… Latentia’s strenght was fading. Mobius returned home drunk, as any teenager would come from his birthday. He didn’t even noticed his mother’s disappearence or the note that lied on the table. He just went to his bed thinking about his new age and how will this change his life. He was sure that his mother was happy for him… proud to. But in the morning, the next day, at 6:30 a scream was heard in the city of Stonegate. Mobius found the note… He went searching for his mother. He looked everywhere, but he was unable to find her. So he started mourning her. He mourned her for a long time, but he was to find hope again in an elven girl’s arms. They met at the Center of Stonegate and, as time passed, they started to know each other better and better. Her name was Edea Forestwind. She had a beautiful black hair, blue eyes and her body was absolutley perfect. Thru her soft and thin skin, you could see a blood that seamed as blue as her eyes flowing thru her veins. Smart and beautiful, she was everything Mobius ever wanted. Edea and Mobius felt madly inlove with each other, but they bouth knew that they had to pick a class of their own, a class their heart wanted, what was destined for them to be. Since his mother’s death, Mobius was atracted by necromancery. The thought that he could raise the dead gived him hope in resurecting his mother. He did not knew the horrors this class could summon… Edea had a passion for spells as well, but she wanted to become an alchemist, like her mother before her. They bouth went their way, but they promised to help each other. And so they did. Mobius was helping Edea gather needful items for her spells and experiments, while she was helping him find corpses and exhuming for bones in the graveyard. They were bouth very happy, and oftenly they were discusing about spending their whole life together. But Mobius had a strange feeling that something was wrong. A feeling that wasn’t leaving him alone not even when he was sleeping in the night. In a rainy morning, he went to meet Edea in the graveyard. It was then when his worst nightmares camed true. As he was walking among the graves, calling her, he saw something that filled his heart with terror and anger at the same time. Edea was crucified on a huge stone, with her face mutilated and her elven ears cut down. Beneath her lifeless body was an inscription writen with her own blood. It said:
Hatred completly filled Mobius’ soul, but with the last part of his brain that was not filled with rage, Mobius realised he could not start a war alone. But he promised to himself that he will have his vengeance. And so, his revenge began… He was poisoning wells, food, everything that the humans drinked or ate. He was spreading plague within the city walls using sewer rats and his undead minions. He was summoning the darkness of death between the walls of Stonegate. One day, as he was poisoning the fountain in the Center of Stonegate, he was hit by somone on his head. The skillful blow knocked him down imediatly. When he waked, an angelic being was next to him. She asked Mobius why was he doing this, as she has been watching him for a long time. Having nothing to lose, he confessed his hatred for humans for the horible sin that they’ve comited. She grabed Mobius, wings appeared from her back and they started to fly. It was the first time Mobius was in the air, he was scared because of that and because he thought the angel will kill him for what he did. But the angel only showed Mobius forests, hills and all sort of creatures…. She showed Mobius… LIFE. After all the wonders he has seen, Mobius was feeling sorry for all the pain he caused, all the life he destroyed and he knew that his skills could never replace the life as it once was… The Angel finaly landed at the gates of some sort of keep. He told him that he has two choices: vengeance and distruction or retribution and life. After all he have seen, Mobius choosed life and retribution. As he answered the angel, she disapeared living him lonely between the gates to the keep and the town of Quessa. Mobius asked himself what could the name of that beautiful creature be, and the soft whispers of the wind brought one word to his ears: Una. Later
he was to find that this Una was an ancient being, one of the ones that
created the world known to everyone. The quest given to Mobius by Leowyn was for him to find four items spread acros the land. Mobius spend two entire weeks in search of the four items. After this time, he was able to retrieve them all. He returned to sir Leowyn with the items and was granted with an audience to the Duchess. The Duchess was busy at the time Mobius finished his quest so he had to wait two more long days before he could speak with her. The days past hard for Mobius, he was eager to see her, but one morning, while he was standing at the Old Square in Stonegate, a messenger camed to him and told him the Duchess Ceridwen will see him now. Really happy he mounted on a black horse and followed the messenger to the Keep of Brynn. At the entrance, Ceridwen was waiting for him smiling. It was strange that a necromancer, usualy mad and willing to destroy then create the world their way, wanted to join a house that wishes only to spread peace around the realms, and teach everyone the respect for Mother. Mobius realized that he must truly be onest with Ceridwen and tell her all the facts that brought him in front of her. He agreed with himself that one thing must yet be secret… the meeting with the angel. He went in to the Duchess’ room and they started talking. Noone actualy knows what they have talked in that room, except them, of course, but it is certain that when they got out, Mobius was not just another necromancer, he was a member of the Noble House of Brynn. Happy that he was accepted within the house, Mobius started practicing his spells and learning new ones, untill the day when he looked in the necromancer’s spellbook and coudn’t find any unlearned spells. He was ready to actualy do something for the house that was so kind to him. Though, there was one more thing Mobius wanted to learn, but coudn’t. But a chance for him to learn a strategiest skills camed aut when he met an old friend of his named Uriah. Him and Mobius spend two long months together, and Uriah trained Mobius in the art of leading the troops in to battle and to victory. All that time, Mobius didn’t had any news from his house, and when he returned, he found out that a truly shocking event happened. Duchess Ceridwen died murdered. Lonely at her grave, Mobius composed a poem:
As all the other members of the house, Mobius joined the search party for the murderer. Yet, long time after her death, nothing was found. They all decided to drop all searching temptatives, and let faith and the Mother handle the killer. Mobius felt lonely again, he needed the love that he once felt for Edea, and the love she felt for him. Strangely, his eyes were absorbed more and more by the Duchess’ grandaughter named Caitlynn. He showed her hidden signs of love, but she did not had either the eyes, either the ears to see or hear them. She was good to Mobius, as good as she was with everyone else. But it wasn’t enough for Mobius. While he was trying to show his love to Caitlynn, a few changes were made within the House. Leowyn Solsword becamed a viscount, many old house members becamed lords, and Caitlynn becamed a lady and the religious leader of the House of Brynn. Mobius was always trying to get closer and closer to her, so even before Caitlynn made a clear announcement that she wishes to have an assistant, Mobius was already convicing Caitlynn to take him as an assistant. Of course, Caitlynn didn’t knew what the most important reason for Mobius was. She just thought that he wants to guard the Mother. That was indeed one of the most important reason that made Mobius join the religious part of the house, but the truly important reason was his love for her. The necromancer was accepted as an assistant for Caitlynn. But unfortunately she coudn’t share the same love for Mobius, or at least she never showed it. Until one night, when all of his dreams were to come true. Caitlynn invited him to spend some time with her at the place she always went to hide from the world and put her thoughts in order. Because of some things that happened before that, Mobius was drunk and feeling kind of bad. She felt asleep, and when he waked, a new life was waiting for him. New feelings, new hopes… Caitlynn recognized that she loves him as well. Mobius wrote a poem for her, but she never had the chance to read it.The poem goes like this:
The latest events that happened to him, brought Mobius new hopes, new dreams, and even more problems to deal with. But he knew that Caitlynn’s love will follow him wherever he will go, and her mind will guide him and safeguard him from any danger. With Caitlynn and the Mother by his side, Mobius had nothing more to fear. One day, Caitlynn asked him: "Are you completly sure you have turned in to a good necromancer? a necromancer that helps and respects life more then death?". Mobius pondered the question for a few minutes then answered: "My dear spiritual leader, my heart will always be yours and Mother’s, but you must always remember that I am a necromancer, therefor my soul is Death’s." From that day the title he was known to the realms was: Nature’s heart, Death’s soul… I put my word for the truth of the words here, The pages are sealed with the sign of Mobius Valentine,
